Hyphen Nation - Episode #18: Trade Me To The Pistons; I Can't Beat Them

After last episode’s seriousness, I get back into the swing of the regular Hyphen Nation beat. I read about some sudden naysayers of myself and the podcast and I respond in kind. I address the tragedy of Christina Grimmie’s death. I relive an awkward conversation at work. I talk about McDonald’s again… but not how you think. Then I go in heavy on Kevin Durant, the future of my Chicago Bulls, and how I’m holding off my membership into the Minnesota Timberwolves fan club… for now. I finish things with a little WWE talk before the Battleground PPV. Still avoiding talk of the Cleveland Cavaliers. BUT IT WILL SOON HAPPEN.

Dope Reads: Basketball and Tragedies

I wish I could tell you all of these pieces I found for this edition are happy-go-lucky. I wish I could tell you that everything is alright. I wish I could makes those for have suffered from recent tragedies able to not feel pain. But I can't. I can share stories. There's a cool Obama piece. Elizabethany went bar golfing for her birthday. There's an oral history of the 2006 NBA Finals. And then there's two pieces about the recent shootings. If you normally, skim over these or don't read them at all, I ask that you at least read the 8th and 10th entries. Mike Breen. So I Started Writing This... A Moment For Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is my favorite wrestler in the WWE currently. There I said it. I’ve been so hurt over CM Punk’s departure that I felt like I shouldn’t have favorites anymore. I didn’t want to burned again. I didn’t want to watch them struggle in the undercard for years (Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro). I didn’t want to have a love for a wrestler who had one main event push 5 years ago who everyone else in the world hated (The Miz).

Life In Morgantown: Comics Paradise Plus 2

On April 6, I got off work early and had some time to kill before I had to meet Angel and Aaliyah back home. I decided to head over to Westover to check out the newest edition to Morgantown’s comic shop selection, Comics Paradise Plus 2. Matt and I had tried to go on a Monday last fall but they were closed. As I previously mentioned, I’m a Gary’s kid all the way, but I’m willing to see what other shops have to offer. It’s located at 183 Holland Ave, just up (or is that down?) the street from the Circle K.
