Kelen Conley: I’ve been delaying starting this column.
October has been one of the roughest months of my life for reasons I’d rather not say. Those reasons are why we’re currently behind on Talking Out The Dead. But I really needed TotD this week after Season 6’s third episode.
My dad emailed this to me a few weeks after I sent him a clean copy of Soon You'll Understand in 2014. His note said it wasn't a review from him but I thought it was anyway. For some reason, I never posted it like I did with any other review I recieved of the album.
It wasn't long after that I actually believed it wasn't from him. I had talked to my mom about SYU and she said she really liked it and was proud of me for fulfilling my dreams of releasing an album, so I didn't think she would take the extra time to have dad send me an email (she hated sitting and typing if she could avoid it) with her thoughts.
I lost mom on November 7. I came back to this review and asked dad who it was from and sure enough, it was from mom. So it was a happy little surprise that I didn't fully look into this until now.
This is the best album review I'll ever get for the rest of my life.

I love the Ocean's Trilogy. I don't care if you think Ocean's Twelve and Thirteen were sub-par. If they're on my television, they're staying on until the credits roll.
So it was no surpise that shortly after news broke that Sandra Bullock could be starring in an Ocean's Eleven reboot, I was getting texts from my casting partner Heather about the squad she was forming in her head. By Tuesday morning, we had our cast finalized. With my Grantland column out the way, my procrastination on my NaNoWrMo novel and the last two Talking Out The Dead columns continues!

On October 30, 2015, ESPN officially shut down Grantland.com. While not completely unexpected with their firing of Bill Simmons in May, the move still shocked many, even with Grantland staffers moving on in the months following the Sports Guy’s departure. This move on ESPN’s part was a bummer for me because Grantland was the standard bearer of internet excellence for the longest time in my mind.
Again, this episode really has me hopeful for the direction the show is going. It’s seems like they’re ready to attempt stepping outside of the box of being just a zombie show. At the end of the day, it’s obviously a zombie show, but they’re focusing more on the elements that make a show great.
